Collections 2025 - Chapter 3

Curves, textures and tones that bring the outside in – and make every room feel like the best seat in the house

You know that sweet spot at home – the place you gravitate to without thinking. Maybe it’s the dining table that catches the morning light just right. Or the sofa that lets you half-watch the garden and half-watch your phone. That’s where Chapter 3 lives.

The latest in Horgans’ seasonal series, Harmonious Spaces to Relax and Retreat is all about the in-between. The indoors-that-feel-like-outdoors. The lounge that works as hard for Friday night cocktails as it does for Monday morning emails. Sculptural without being precious. Beautiful without losing its purpose.

This is furniture made for the Australian way of living: open spaces, coastal breezes, city skylines. Pieces that carry an easy, unhurried energy from one room to the next, creating a sense of flow rather than division.

Core design themes & philosophy

Chapter 3 design language is rooted in the kind of calm you can feel. Every material, curve and colour is chosen to create interiors that invite you in and make you want to stay.

Materials are tactile and grounded: rope detailing that nods to coastal craftsmanship, smooth marble finishes that add a cool touch to sunlit spaces, woven fabrics that soften the edges of a room and timber with a sun-warmed glow. Clay and stone tones anchor the palette in nature’s own spectrum, making every piece easy to layer.

Forms lean into comfort without sacrificing presence. Rounded silhouettes and sculptural curves keep the eye moving. Pedestal bases feel solid but never heavy, creating balance between grounding and flow.

The palette pulls directly from the Australian landscape, sand, clay, deep green sage, walnut all layered in ways that echo sea cliffs, bushland and sunlit rock. These tones make it simple to build harmony across open plan interiors and transitional spaces.

At its core, the philosophy is about connection, between people, between rooms, between indoors and out. This is furniture for lingering, over a meal, in conversation, in that extra half-hour of quiet before the day begins. Designed for the Australian lifestyle, it adapts easily to our climates, our light and the way we move between spaces.

Lifestyle & styling directions

Chapter 3 was designed with movement in mind, not just the physical kind, but the way furniture shifts between moments, moods and settings. These are pieces that feel just as natural in a private residence as they do in a boutique hotel or rooftop bar.

A dining table might host long lunches in a courtyard shaded by eucalyptus one weekend, then become the centrepiece of a city apartment dinner party the next. Sofas are scaled and styled to suit an urban lounge or a covered terrace, carrying the same relaxed sophistication into both. Outdoor chairs take on new life with a woven throw in winter, turning an alfresco nook into a quiet reading spot.

The common thread is comfort that doesn’t compromise style. Every curve and texture is there to encourage gathering, whether that’s a lingering conversation with friends, a family breakfast that runs late or a solo retreat with a cup of tea.

By blurring the lines between indoors and out, and between residential and commercial contexts, Chapter 3 sets the tempo. Slower mornings, longer evenings, conversations that wander. These are pieces that turn rooms into places you return to, again and again.

Nature’s harmony in shared spaces

The Australian landscape runs through Chapter 3 like a thread. Its palette borrows from the coast and bush – sand, clay, muted sage, deep green and walnut – layered in ways that feel grounded yet uplifting. Rope detailing recalls weathered moorings. Marble and stone finishes echo sun-warmed rock. Woven textures bring the tactility of grasslands and garden shade into everyday settings.

These design choices create a sense of tranquillity. Picture a dining table that feels as natural under a canopy of eucalyptus as it does in a city apartment. A modular sofa upholstered in tones that mirror the horizon at dusk, linking indoor lounges to covered terraces. Outdoor chairs with handwoven rope that recall coastal craft, ready for morning coffee or a glass of wine at day’s end.

Nature influences more than the look, it creates a sensory experience. The soft scent of lemon myrtle drifting through an open door. The dappled light of tea tree branches falling across a marble tabletop. The texture of a ceramic vase that feels cool and solid in the hand.

Chapter 3 allows you to design with these moments in mind; so every space – inside or out – carries the same easy rhythm.

Why trade clients will value Chapter 3

For designers, stylists and specifiers, Chapter 3 is your toolkit. Finishes run consistently across key categories, making it easy to create cohesion from the first mood board to the final install. Rope, marble, timber and woven textures repeat across dining, lounge, bedroom and outdoor settings, so multi-room and multi-property projects feel connected without becoming repetitive.

Scalability is also built in. Modular seating adapts to a variety of floorplans, while multiple size options in tables and storage pieces make them just as practical for a compact balcony as for a hotel lobby. Materials are chosen not only for their look, but for their ability to handle Australia’s diverse climates – from coastal humidity to urban heat.

For trade clients, this means a collection that’s easy to specify, simple to adapt and designed to stand the test of time. Whether the brief calls for a single hero piece or a complete fit-out, Chapter 3 delivers harmony, flexibility and enduring value.

Step inside the retreat

Chapter 3 is a collection to live with, not just to look at. Every curve, weave and finish is designed to move with you, adapting as spaces evolve and styles shift. It’s all about creating interiors that welcome you in and hold their relevance season after season.

No matter if you’re curating a single retreat or specifying for a multi-site project, these are pieces that bring harmony to the places people gather. See them in person, run your hand along the rope detailing, feel the weight of the marble and imagine all of the possibilities.
