Elevating Client Partnerships at Horgans
True partnership requires open communication, deep trust, and a shared creative vision. With more than 20 years of experience in premium interiors, Casey Hawthorn focuses on aligning seamlessly with our clients' individual styles and project goals, ensuring every designer feels proactively supported from concept to completion.

What is your favourite piece from the Horgans collection right now?
The Sakura and Tetsu cabinets!
Drawing on mid-century Japanese influence - I love the asymmetrical door configuration with the cross-shaped base. They can pair together or be a stand-alone piece. Designed for longevity - and extremely practical in Australian homes.

What trends are you seeing in the interiors space right now, and what do you think is here to stay?
The biggest interior trend I am seeing this year is that we are moving away from the ultra-minimal white spaces towards colour - warmer, more personal, layered and tactile homes.
Emotional comfort is not just photogenic. Curved sofas, organic forms, textured surfaces, limewash walls, soft lighting, Japanese & Mediterranean influence, mid-century style influences. Darker timbers...collected rather than styled - less matchy-matchy. Vintage pieces mixed with modern to create a more individual look.

What is your philosophy for managing client accounts?
For me, managing client accounts is always about maintaining a warm, approachable and personable approach that helps build genuine, long-term relationships.
Strong communication, reliability and trust are just as important as the product or service itself. I aim to make clients feel supported and understood throughout every stage of a project by being responsive, solutions-focused and proactive.
It’s important to understand each client’s individual style, priorities and way of working so the relationship feels collaborative rather than transactional.
Ultimately, my philosophy is centred around creating positive experiences and building lasting partnerships through consistency, attention to detail and open communication.
Where do you look for inspiration, and how do you use that knowledge to keep your clients' businesses ahead of the curve?
There are a few websites and publications I look to for inspiration and knowledge to stay current.

With over two decades in the trade space, what’s the secret to selecting furniture and homewares that truly endure?
Quality & practicality first. Does it suit the brief and the overall design intention.
What is the biggest piece of advice you would give to designers looking to elevate their commercial or residential projects this year?
Design for longevity - Design with emotional atmosphere at the heart.
A restrained palette with incredible materials will almost always feel more elevated than a heavily styled space.
Lighting - still the most underrated element! Layering lighting intentionally.
